Northern Rivers Study Ready to Commence

Work on the degradation study between Bangalow and Yelgun will commence this week. You may see our teams in the rail corridor at various times.

Northern Regional Railway Company (NRRC) are using certified track inspectors to undertake the study and will utilise a minimum of five contractors and suppliers to develop the final costings. This will be the first time this entire section of line has been legally accessed for the purpose of undertaking a full study to reopen the line.

Minor clearing works will be undertaken by our friends at NRRL with all workers undergoing extensive training prior to entering the rail corridor.

We note there is now significant support to reopen the line with NRRC aiming to provide accurate costings for rational decision making on the line's future.
